Want a Free Hug? Watch This Successful Social Experiment In Munich, Germany! by Elisa Schmitz

Millions of us have seen the social experiments made popular by certain YouTube channels. To me, many of these are creative ways to express yourself and connect with others. In Munich, Germany, one captured my attention - live. It's not because it was different than others I had seen. Rather, it was because the young woman had a certain look that I was trying to decipher. Almost sad, yet hopeful. Who would answer her silent offer for free hugs?

We never even exchanged a word, but after she noticed me, she seemed happy that I started to capture her actions on video. She appeared sad, yet she lit up every time someone hugged her. Interestingly, in my 30Seconds video, she gets three hugs (from men and women of various cultures, who all smiled and seemed happy to share the love). I'm not sure how long she stood in that plaza, but a hug every 10 seconds or so seemed pretty successful to me.

I hope this young woman found what she was looking for, or gave others the boost they needed. It reminded me that all it takes to make someone's day is a kind word or positive action. What will each of us do today to make someone's life better?
