2 Ways to Help Young Kids Manage Their Rollercoaster of Emotions!

No matter what ages your kids are, parenting through the emotional ups and downs can be exhausting! To help your kids ultimately learn that there are appropriate ways to respond to emotions, they must first:

  • learn to name their emotions
  • recognize their emotions have meaning

One way to start is to use illustrated cards to help your younger child identify the matching feeling or emotion. You can make your own, or click here for free printable cards. You can also model this for yourself with this fun desk calendar! Emotions are likely to change MANY times throughout the day, so be sure to keep these cards handy. You will want to help your child learn to name their feelings and understand what they mean in good times and sad!
