How to Cool Down This Summer With a Simple Yoga Cooling Breath! Mindfulness Fitness

Try this yoga Cooling Breath to help beat the summer heat – whether it's your body or your emotions heating up!

  • Place your tongue behind your front teeth.
  • With your mouth open inhale and feel the coolness in your mouth. While you are inhaling imagine and feel as though the cool breath is cooling and calming your brain.
  • Close your mouth and exhale through your nose. As you exhale imagine and feel as though the coolness is flowing from your brain, through your nervous system to calm and cool your entire body.
  • Repeat three to 10 times.

Have your kids try it, too, so they can cool down with you.

We're in Vegas and it's 106 degrees. Think I'll use your tip quite often this week, Nicole DeAvilla!!

I just tried this now, and it works! Normally I do the 4-7-8 breathing by Dr. Andrew Weil, but this is a wonderful and easy change-up for anywhere. Thanks for the great tip, @nicoledeavilla. See you at #30SecondMom chat tonight, chica! xoxo
