Rashes can be a symptom of a viral infections like roseola, chicken pox and measles, just to name a few. If your child develops a rash along with other symptoms of a viral illness, contact your pediatrician. These symptoms include:

  • high fever
  • change of behavior
  • decreased intake of fluids
  • decreased urine output 
  • dry lips 

This combination may be a sign of a more serious illness and the child should be evaluated in your pediatrician’s office.
