Hand, Foot & Mouth Disease: Know the Symptoms of HFMD! by Dr. Hannah Chow-Johnson
Hand, foot and mouth disease usually starts with:
- poor appetite
- vague sense of feeling unwell
- sore throat
A few days after the fever begins:
- painful sores can develop, usually in the back of the mouth
- a body rash also may develop, usually on the palms of the hands and soles of the feet, but it can be found on other areas of the body as well
A child with the virus might not have all the symptoms, so talk to your doctor if your child has any of the above symptoms.
