"Become the Fire" Is at the Printer: Why You Should Never Give Up on Your Dreams by Elisa Schmitz

I just learned that my new book, Become the Fire: Transform Life’s Chaos into Business and Personal Success, is at the printer. Being published!
After a decade of thinking, four years of ideating, three years of interviewing and writing, two years of rewriting and editing, and a year of refining, typesetting and proofing, the book is on its way into the world.
I’ve birthed a few babies and businesses, and those births have brought challenges and joys (some of which I share in Become the Fire). But birthing this book has been an all-new challenge and an all-new joy.
The book process has taken me on a soul-searching journey to find ideas, answers, solutions, insights, lessons and gems of wisdom to help readers redefine what success means and then achieve it. To look at their challenges, chaos and fire in a different way. To motivate them to make their own dreams come true. To assure them that if I could do it, and if the 10 leaders I feature in the book could do it, then they can do it, too. To inspire them to use their fire as fuel to achieve fulfillment and success, whatever that looks like in their own lives.
As I write this, I think of all the times I wanted to give up on my dream of writing this book. “It’s just too hard,” “I have so much else going on,” “I don’t think I can do this.” Just some of the feelings I struggled with along the path toward this moment.
But then I would stop mid-thought and remind myself about one of the lessons in my book: be gritty. Show those people who think you can’t do it, that you can do it. Even if that person is yourself. Especially if that person is yourself.
So I didn’t give up. I kept going and I did it, my friends. And today, Become the Fire is at the printer.
