I celebrated International Women’s Day by ordering the Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls box set by Elena Favili for my daughter. I bought them just as much for myself as I did for her and am excited to learn and be inspired alongside her while we read each story.
The books themselves are gorgeous. Each one includes 100 tales of extraordinary women, some well-known, others not at all. Their lives all intertwined by a common belief that nothing should stand in the way of following your dreams and achieving great things. Each person faces their own set of challenges and adversity proving that no path is easy, but living your best life is worth the fight.

The stories are presented in a simple, easy-to-understand narrative, complimented by an artists’ unique depiction of the woman featured. Text on the left, portrait on the right. I am in love after just the first few and can’t wait to read and reread them all for years to come.
My daughter will be 4 soon, so as she grows and matures, I know she’ll absorb different messages. Life lessons that I hope become little voices in the back of her mind that say, “You can do this!” at the most critical times.

There is also a bonus at the end of the book giving your child space to draw their own portrait and write their own story – a brilliant and thoughtful touch. The world is theirs!
