Awareness & Education on Childhood Eczema (Mei Marcie's 100th 30Seconds Tip)! by Mei Marcie

Atopic dermatitis, a common form of eczema, typically begins in childhood within the first year of age. Eczema is not contagious! It is an inflammation of the skin that is characterized by redness, dryness and itchiness. I have a daughter with atopic dermatitis who’s had it from 2 weeks old. For my 100th 30Seconds tip, I would like to raise awareness on this skin condition that can severely affect the quality of life for families with eczema children, mainly due to the constant itch, scratching, secondary infection and lack of sleep (from severe itch). 

Apart from my blog, EczemaBlues.com, there are many associations that I have collaborated with over the years that provide valuable information, meant to support homes, schools and bridge the information gap between caregivers, doctors and patients. Do spread the word and share these links with those with eczema. These organizations do make a difference!
