Depression in Kids: Good Students Can Fall Through the Cracks When They're Having a Hard Time

One of the clear and obvious signs of depression or struggle in a student's life is a drop in their grades. Attention is paid to students who fail classes and who barely pass, especially when they have been doing well before. However, excellent students have a different pattern that often leaves their troubling times unnoticed.

When a straight-A student starts getting a few Bs, nobody is alarmed. They generally do not express antisocial or defiant behavior and so called "fly under the radar" with their depression and struggles. It is a good idea to stop and pay attention to someone whose grades have just "slightly slipped" and assist those students with whatever they are going through. Nine times out of 10 you are doing them a major favor.

Such a great point, Anneli Riismaa . The alarms usually don't go off for a B on a test. Thanks for sharing!
