Spring is here and soon it will be summer! While most of us don't want to admit it, we would like our bodies to be beach ready. If you're planning to hit it the gym more as the weather warms, try leaving your phone in a locker. You might be surprised to learn that it can impede your workout.
Research supports the link between cellphone use, physical activity and sedentary behavior. After controlling for other known variables correlated to fitness, there was a significant negative relationship between total daily cellphone use and cardio-respiratory fitness. The research showed that higher-use cellphone users are significantly less fit than those who use their phones less. The study was published in the International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition & Physical Activity.
