Avoid GMO Foods? Here Are 4 Cooking Oils You May Want to Stop Using!

If you’re trying to avoid genetically modified foods (GMOs), Chef Gerard Viverito, director of Culinary Education for Passionfish, says to put these oils on your "do not buy" list. According to Chef Gerard, more than 90 percent of these crops are grown using genetically modified seed.

  • soybean oil
  • canola oil
  • corn oil
  • cottonseed oil

OMG, I have to dump our canola oil. We mostly use olive oil and coconut oil, though, phew! Thanks for sharing, Donna John!

Same here. I've had a small bottle of canola oil in the pantry for probably a year. I mainly use olive oil and sometimes coconut oil, too.
