Need to add more protein to your diet? Hemp seeds are an excellent way. They are ideal for vegetarians and vegans who need to get protein that most omnivores acquire with ease. Just 3 tablespoons give you 10 grams of protein. One way to try them is in sauteed vegetables. Here's an easy recipe for brussels sprouts with berries, nuts and seeds. You'll need:
- 10 ounces brussels sprouts, trimmed and thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons hazelnuts, roughly chopped
- 1/4 cup dried cranberries
- 3 tablespoons hemp seeds
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- salt and pepper
Place a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon oil. Put the hazelnuts in the pan and toast. Add the shredded sprouts, cranberries and hemp seeds. Cook until the sprouts are tender, about 3-5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
