Try This Easy Yoga Technique to Help You Wake Up in the Morning!

Feeling groggy and finding it hard to wake up? Try this easy yoga technique the next time you hit the snooze button so you will be ready to roll out of bed when the next alarm rings.

  • Lie on your left side
  • Use your left thumb (or one of your other fingers) to close off your left nostril
  • Breathe through your right nostril

You may find it difficult to breathe through your right nostril at first. That’s because your left nostril is dominate when you are sleepy, and it’s part of the reason you are having trouble waking up. You can “cheat” a little if you need to let some air in through your left nostril until your body starts to make the switch. As you start to breathe through your right nostril affirm, as Paramahansa Yogananda said, “I am awake and ready!”
