Daymond, the founder of FUBU and an investor in myriad companies, is an entrepreneurial inspiration. While serving as ambassador for Capital One's Future Edge initiative, including giving advice to the participants of the Future Founders U.Pitch competition, Daymond shared his No. 1 tip for entrepreneurs' success exclusively with us:
"Do something you absolutely love! I would address people for free for the rest of my life if I could. Now, I can't guarantee that you're gonna be successful, in regards to what 'people' think is successful, but you're going to have a blast doing it. And no matter what, surround yourself with like-minded people. But make sure you do something you love!"
I have always believed that if your passion is aligned with your purpose, you will never "work" a day in your life. Daymond's career advice is spot on whether you're starting your own business, or simply working your way up the corporate ladder. Be passionate about what you do – and find others who feel the same way – then success will more easily follow. It's part of becoming the fire!
