Air Fryer Green Onions Recipe Elevates Scallions From Garnish Status (2 Ingredients, 10 Minutes) Air Fryer Recipes Budget Recipes Vegetarian Side Dishes Vegan Vegetables Appetizers Gluten-free
Experimenting with my new air fryer is my latest obsession. After making my air fryer tomatoes recipe for the third time this week, I saw a bunch of green onions (scallions) in the fridge. Yep, you know what happened next. This air fryer green onion recipe elevates the vegetable typically used as a garnish into star status. These soft, slightly charred green onions are delicious eaten straight out of the air fryer basket (guilty) or as a side dish with dinner.
You only need two ingredients to make this air fryer recipe. Grab a bunch of green onions and some olive oil. If you like to season things up, also grab your salt and pepper shakers. The green onions cook up in the air fryer in about eight minutes.
My daughter immediately started brainstorming on how to turn these delicious air-fried green onions into an appetizer. We decided the onions would be delicious over something creamy like whipped feta, burrata or ricotta with a squeeze of fresh lemon and a drizzle of hot honey. (Is your mouth watering yet?) Another idea was to cut them up into pasta dishes, grain bowls or a salad. Me? I'm partial to eating them straight out of the air fryer basket, but his time I did save a few to serve as a side dish beside my air fryer chicken thighs.
