Tiramisu at an Italian restaurant can be one of the most special delicious desserts! But I never thought I could make a homemade tiramisu that would be both delicious and so easy. This creamy Italian dessert recipe took me about 15 minutes to make and was the perfect ending to dinner.

I promise this easy tiramisu recipe is a fantastic no-bake dessert to make any time of the year, but especially when you want something that seems like you spent a lot of time and effort (aka impress friends and family). To make this restaurant-quality tiramisu recipe you need the following ingredients: heavy whipping cream, mascarpone cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, prepared espresso coffee, ladyfingers, cocoa powder and optional coffee-flavored liqueur.

Serve this fluffy, espresso-spiked Italian tiramisu as a creamy dessert after dinner or a sweet snack whenever (because you deserve it).

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
• 8 ounces mascarpone cheese, at room temperature
• 1/3 cup granulated sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 1/2 cups cold espresso, prepared
• 3 tablespoons coffee-flavored liqueur (optional)
• 7 ounces (1 package) ladyfingers (you can use gluten-free ladyfingers)
• cocoa powder, for dusting


Here's how to make it: 

1. Pour the heavy cream into a mixing bowl. Use and electric mixer or stand mixer on medium and whip into stiff peaks. While whipping add the vanilla and sugar.
2. When the cream is fully whipped into stiff peaks, add the mascarpone and blend on low until thoroughly combined.
3. In a shallow bowl add the cold espresso and coffee-flavored liqueur, if using.
4. Place a 8x8-inch dish next to the bowl, Dip the ladyfingers into the coffee mixture (don’t soak, just a quick dip on both sides) and lay them into a single layer of the pan.
5. Spread half the whipping cream mixture over the top of the ladyfingers.
6. Repeat the layers with more dipped ladyfingers and the rest of the whipping cream mixture.
7. Shake cocoa powder through a mesh strainer over the top if you are going to serve in just a few hours. Otherwise, save the dusting until just ready to serve.
8. Place in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 hours or up to 3 to 4 days. (No need to cover if just refrigerating for 3 to 4 hours. If you want it to sit for a few days just cover lightly with plastic wrap.) Letting the tiramisu sit for a few days allows the flavors to meld more and it just gets better! Store the tiramisu in the fridge.
