To make these candy bar dessert bars you will need to grab the following ingredients from your fridge and pantry: butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, an egg, vanilla extract, flour (gluten-free or all-purpose), baking powder, kosher salt, chocolate chips, shredded sweetened coconut and roasted and salted almonds.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup salted butter, melted, plus more for the pan
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour or gluten-free flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips, chopped (bittersweet or semisweet)
- 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
- 1/2 cup roasted, salted almonds, chopped
Here's how to make it:
- Place melted butter and sugars, egg and vanilla in a large bowl and mix until smooth.
- Add the flour, baking powder, salt, chocolate, coconut and nuts. (Use whatever variety of chocolate chips that you like.)
- Use a rubber spatula to fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.
- Spread the batter into a parchment paper-lined 8x8-inch or 9x9-inch baking pan. (Leave an overhang of parchment at the top so you can life the blondies out later.)
- Bake in a preheated 350-degree F oven for 24 to 27 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out with a couple of crumbs attached.
- Cool on a rack for at least 15 minutes. (You can also cool on a piece of parchment paper on the counter.) When ready to serve, lift the parchment out of the pan and slice into 12 pieces.
- Serve alone or with ice cream and enjoy! Store the blondies in an airtight container ot keep them fresh.
