This great weeknight vegetable side dish recipe is so easy to make, and it's a little sassy with its strong Asian flavors. Try pairing this baked broccoli with a delicious honey and soy-glazed chicken for a wonderful dinner for your family or friends.
Here is your shopping list for this baked broccoli recipe: fresh broccoli (check out the health benefits of broccoli), extra-virgin olive oil, cornstarch, cornflake crumbs or panko (use gluten-free cornflakes or panko for a gluten-free dinner), nutritional yeast or Parmesan cheese, ground paprika, tahini (check out the health benefits of tahini), sriracha sauce, sweet chili sauce, water and optional sesame seeds for garnishing. Ingredients
Broccoli
- 2 large heads broccoli, cut into florets
- 1 1/2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons cornflake crumbs or panko (regular or gluten-free)
- 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast or 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan
- 1 teaspoon ground paprika
Bang Bang Sauce
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 1 - 2 tablespoons sriracha (or to taste)
- 1 tablespoon sweet chili sauce (heaping)
- 1 - 2 tablespoons water, to thin if needed
Topping
- 1 - 2 teaspoons sesame seeds (optional)
Here's how to make it:
- Place the broccoli on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet and toss with the olive oil. Add the remaining ingredients and toss to coat.
- Bake in a preheated 400-degree F oven for 20 minutes, stirring the broccoli halfway through.
- While the broccoli bakes, make the bang bang sauce by combining all the ingredients. Add the water to thin to your desired consistency.
- Place the broccoli on a platter or plate and drizzle the sauce over the top. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top, if desired. Enjoy! Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat in the microwave.
