Creamy High-Protein Cranberry Sauce Oatmeal Recipe (3 Ingredients, 10 Minutes) Breakfast Brunch Snacks Fruit Gluten-free Budget Recipes High Protein Recipes
It doesn't have to be winter to enjoy cranberry sauce, but the holidays are definitely the "most wonderful time of the year" to get creative with it. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I make tons of homemade cranberry sauce. Rather than only serving it alongside various proteins at dinner, I let it shine at breakfast in this creamy high-protein cranberry sauce oatmeal recipe.
Starting my day with a protein-packed breakfast is important, and incorporating healthy cottage cheese an easy way to do that. By combining cottage cheese with oatmeal, you get the health benefits of protein and oats in every bite. Oats are a key source of fiber, among the other health benefits of oats. Plus, cranberries are a powerhouse of antioxidants, along with the other health benefits of cranberries.
To make this festive oatmeal recipe, you need only three gluten-free ingredients: quick-cook oats, cottage cheese and cranberry sauce. The cottage cheese texture mixes into the oatmeal and cranberry sauce easily. You simply cook the oatmeal according to package directions then mix in the cottage cheese and cranberry sauce. You can add optional toppings like fruit or chopped nuts, if you like.
I served this simple oatmeal recipe topped with chopped walnuts for breakfast. It would be a fun and festive holiday brunch, too!
