Healthier Homemade Tartar Sauce Recipe (No Mayo, 5 Ingredients) Sauces/Condiments Seafood Gluten-free
Tartar sauce is almost a must with seafood dinners. Most tartar sauce recipes are made with mayonnaise, which can make it on the not-so-healthy side. This creamy homemade tartar sauce is made with healthy Greek yogurt (read about the health benefits of yogurt) instead of mayo, so it's lighter and healthier.
To make this tartar sauce for dinner, you will need just a few simple ingredients. Here is your short shopping list: Greek yogurt, green onions, pickle relish (or chop your own pickles), capers, fresh or dried dill, salt and black pepper. The gluten-free ingredients are simply mixed in a bowl until smooth. The next part is harder: deciding what to use the tartar sauce on!
This tartar sauce is delicious served with fish, shrimp, clams, cake cakes, hush puppies, salmon patties, tuna cakes or on fish sandwiches or salmon burgers. But don't stop at seafood! This yogurt-based dip also works with chicken or as a dip for fresh vegetables. How will you use it?
