Everyone Is Making This Moist Applesauce Bread Recipe for Dessert, Snacking & Breakfast Bread/Muffins Desserts Snacks Fruit Low Sodium Recipes Cakes/Cupcakes Brunch Breakfast
I love this wonderful moist applesauce bread. It's such a nice change from the banana bread that I’ve made for years. If you happen to have any homemade applesauce, it makes this moist applesauce bread extra special, but it's not necessary (you can use store-bought applesauce).
To make this easy applesauce bread recipe, you will need just a few simple ingredients. Here is your short shopping list: granulated sugar, sour cream, vegetable oil, eggs, unsweetened applesauce, vanilla extract, all-purpose flour, old-fashioned oats, baking powder, ground cinnamon and a bit of kosher salt.
This delicious applesauce bread works well for breakfast, as a sweet snack or a not-too-sweet dessert. And, according to my friends, the kids love it! Everyone is going to be baking this sweet apple bread (yes, I shared the recipe!).

Recipe Notes
- This loaf was made with my homemade applesauce that has cinnamon added. The coloring of my bread might appear darker than yours.
- Store the bread in an airtight container to keep it fresh.
Here's how to make it:
- Mix granulated sugar, sour cream, oil, eggs, applesauce and vanilla in a medium mixing bowl.
- In a large mixing bowl add the flour, oats, cinnamon, baking powder and salt.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry and mix well.
- Pour the batter into a loaf pan that's been coated with nonstick cooking spray. Bake in a preheated 350-degree F oven for 75 to 80 minutes. The loaf is cooked when a toothpick comes out with a bit of crumb, but not wet.
- Cool on a rack for 1 hour.
- After 55 minutes make the glaze by combining the applesauce and powdered sugar.
- Spread on the top of the loaf, slice and enjoy!
