To make these baked ground turkey meatballs you will need just a handful of simple ingredients from the pantry and fridge. Here's what you need to gather to make these low-sodium meatballs: ground turkey, an egg, breadcrumbs, garlic and parsley. The five ingredients are mixed together in a mixing bowl, shaped into about 20 meatballs and baked until cooked through.
The high-protein meatballs can be frozen raw or after you bake them. (Check out the health benefits of protein.) Simply freeze on a baking sheet then pop them into a freezer bag or reusable storage container. Try this homemade baked meatball recipe with ground chicken or even ground beef. If preferred, you could use fresh soft breadcrumbs. You also can use gluten-free breadcrumbs to make this recipe gluten-free. You can easily double or triple the recipe, too.

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup dry breadcrumbs or panko breadcrumbs (you can use gluten-free panko or gluten-free breadcrumbs)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
- 2 tablespoons minced Italian flat-leaf parsley or fresh chives
Here's how to make it:
- Combine all the ingredients in a mixing bowl. Season to taste with salt and black pepper. Stir in some freshly grated Parmesan cheese, if desired, for extra flavor and cheesiness.
- Roll into meatballs and place them on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
- Bake in a preheated 400-degree F oven for about 15 to 20 minutes. Serve as desired.
