Actress Suzanne Somers, best known for her role as Chrissy Snow on Three's Company, died on October 15, 2023, the day before her 77th birthday. Somers survived an aggressive form of breast cancer for 23 years, but the details of her death have not been released as of yet.

Besides acting and fitness, Somers loved food. She wrote this in her book, The Sexy Forever Recipe Bible: "I love food. I have always loved food. I started cooking for my family as a young girl. I loved baking cakes. By the time I was nine, I was making beef stroganoff for the family. It was one of the few places where I had self-confidence."

Somers believed in eliminating insulin triggers and bad fats in her diet. Some of her targets were alcohol; caffeine; high-insulin fruits and vegetables like bananas, carrots, corn and sweet potatoes; pasta; sugars; white flour; white rice; most oils like peanut, cottonseed, safflower, shortening, soybean, sunflower and vegetable oils; and margarine.

The late actress believed in committing to clean, organic food, choosing healthy proteins, fats and vegetables at most meals, eating the right carbs, eating fruits on an empty stomach, eating three meals a day, drinking eight glasses of water every day and waiting two hours between meals if going from carbohydrates to proteins.

Somers did know how to eat! Her turkey meatloaf recipe is an example of that. The moist meatloaf is full of flavorful and a filling dinner for the family. She had a simple trick that keeps the ground turkey extra moist – pouring chicken broth over the meatloaf before baking. To make her gluten-free turkey meatloaf you will need ground turkey, an egg yolk, fresh parsley, butter, onion, fresh lemon juice and chicken broth. Here's how to make it:

1. Mix together the ground turkey, egg yolk, parsley, butter, onion and lemon juice in a mixing bowl. Season to taste with salt and black pepper. 
2. Form the meat into a loaf and put it into a lightly greased loaf pan. 
3. Pour the broth over the meatloaf.
4. Bake in a preheated 350-degree F oven for about 1 hour, basting occasionally with the pan liquids.
5. Let the meatloaf rest about 10 minutes before slicing and serving with the pan juices.
