Non-dairy whipped topping is used in and on so many desserts. Instead of just using it as-is, why not make a creamy frosting with it? This cool whipped frosting is light, rich, creamy and takes just minutes to make.

All you need to make this whipped frosting recipe is a box of instant vanilla pudding, powdered sugar, milk, vanilla extract and tubs of non-dairy whipped topping. The ingredients are beat until fluffy. So quick and easy!

Use this whipped frosting on cupcakes or cakes. This frosting recipe is enough for about 2 dozen cupcakes or one whole cake. If you need different colors, simply add some food coloring. You can also serve this creamy, fluffy frosting as a dip for fresh summer fruit

Recipe Notes

  • If you're not using the frosting right away, be sure to cover it so it does not dry out.
  • Buy three 8-ounce tubs of non-dairy whipped topping, but use as much as needed to get desired consistency.
  • Name brand non-dairy whipped topping may work better in this recipe than store brand.
  • If you want colored frosting, add food coloring after beating in the non-dairy topping.

Here's how to make it:

  1. Put the vanilla pudding, powdered sugar, vanilla and milk into a mixing bowl. Use an electric mixer to beat for about 2 minutes or until smooth and thick.
  2. Slowing start to beat in the non-dairy whipped topping, one tub at a time, until it is all incorporated and to your desired consistency (you may not need all of the third tub). The frosting will get stiffer as you beat it. Use the frosting immediately or refrigerate until you're ready to use it.
