Cajun Boiled Potatoes Recipe: Crawfish Boil Potatoes Without the Mudbugs Side Dishes Vegetables
Is there anything better than crawfish season? I love that crawfish season starts earlier, lasts longer and is more frequent than years past. More time to eat and enjoy crawfish. Not only crawfish, but the seasoned corn and potatoes that come with it. The corn and potatoes are cooked with the crawfish and soak up the spicy flavor. Delicious! Now you can enjoy those potatoes and flavors anytime without having to peel one crawfish.
The process of making Cajun boiled potatoes is beyond simple. All you need is small boiling potatoes, crawfish boil or Cajun seasoning, and a sharp knife. To start the simple potato recipe, pierce the potatoes all over with a sharp knife. Bring a pot of water to a boil big enough to hold all your potatoes so that they're submerged fully and season it with dry crawfish boil seasoning (I used about 1 tablespoon). Boil the potatoes until tender and then let them soak while you finish up the rest of dinner. As they soak, they get even more seasoned and tasty. Drain and they're ready to be served.
Serve these crawfish boil potatoes as a side dish with chicken, seafood, beef or pork. You could even throw some fresh corn on the cob into the pot, too. Why not?

Ingredients
- new white potatoes or red potatoes, washed
- crawfish boil seasoning or Cajun seasoning
Here's how to make it:
- With a sharp knife, pierce the potatoes all over (this helps the seasoning sink into the flesh of the potatoes as they cook).
- Put desired amount of crawfish boil into a pot of boiling water.
- Add the potatoes and make sure they are completely submerged in the seasoned water.
- Cook the potatoes until tender. When tender, turn the heat off and let them sit as long as you can.
- Drain the potatoes and serve.
