The blue ribbon tartar sauce recipe is made with basic ingredients: mayonnaise, chopped dill pickles, minced onion, chopped fresh parsley and pickle juice. Whisk all the ingredients together, season with salt and black pepper, and this creamy condiment is ready for that seafood.
Think beyond crab cakes! You could dip chicken nuggets, hushpuppies, clam cakes and even fresh cut-up vegetables in this creamy dip. But any seafood, really, would be delicious served with this tartar sauce.

Ingredients
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup finely chopped dill pickles
- 1/4 cup minced onion
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon pickle juice
Here's how to make it:
- Whisk together all the ingredients in a bowl. (For a little heat, add some minced jalapeno or crushed red pepper flakes. If you like a sweeter tartar sauce, use sweet pickles instead of dill. You can also add some black pepper, if desired.)
- Season with salt and pepper. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Store the tartar sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator
