The crusts are cut off of white sandwich bread and then it's flattened with a rolling pin. (If you don't have a rolling pin, use a heavy drinking glass.) A thick layer of hazelnut spread (aka Nutella) is spread on the bread before it is tightly rolled up. The french toast roll-ups take a dip in a mixture of milk, egg, sugar and vanilla before being pan-fried in butter. The best part? The hot french toast sticks are rolled in cinnamon and sugar.
Serve these sweet stuffed french toast roll-ups with maple syrup and more hazelnut spread on the side. Some fresh fruit is also nice because these are really sweet. These french toast roll-ups would be a wonderful addition to your brunch spread, too.

Ingredients
- 8 slices white bread
- 8 tablespoons Nutella
- 3 tablespoons butter
For Soaking
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
For Rolling
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Here's how to make it:
- Cut the crusts off the bread slices, then use a rolling pin to flatten.
- Spread each slice of bread with 1 tablespoons of Nutella. Roll the bread up tightly.
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, 2 tablespoons sugar and vanilla.
- In another bowl, stir together the 3 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon.
- Heat the butter in a large nonstick pan over medium heat. Dip the rolled bread into the milk-egg mixture and place in the hot pan. Cook for about 2 to 3 minutes, turning often, until golden brown. Remove from the pan and immediately roll in the cinnamon-sugar.
