Protein is an essential part of a healthy diet. There are science-backed reasons to eat more protein. A high-protein diet may reduce appetite and control hunger (great when trying to lose weight!), increase muscle mass, improve strength, is good for bone health and may increase metabolism, to name a few. You can add protein into foods you already love, like guacamole.

This easy protein guacamole recipe gets that boost of protein from cottage cheese. Cottage cheese is the perfect addition to creamy guacamole because it, too, is creamy and has a mild flavor. Cottage cheese is high in protein, In fact, 1 cup of cottage cheese has 28 grams of protein and only 160 calories.

Serve this protein-rich guacamole with baked chips or cut-up fresh vegetables for a snack. You could also use it as a spread on English muffins, toasted bread, bagels or even sandwiches for lunch or dinner.
