Sandwiches are always a great option when you’re feeding a crowd and sticking to a budget. And this cost-conscious budget recipe for cheesy Cuban sliders takes the classic ham and cheese combo to next level delicious!

With under 10 ingredients needed, many of which you probably already have on hand, these Cuban-inspired sliders are full of savings and flavor. Plus, they toast up perfectly in the oven, making them perfect for gameday get-togethers or easy weeknight dinners.

You could use Italian bread instead of the Hawaiian sweet rolls to create regular Cuban sandwiches. This is simple, savory finger food for your Super Bowl™ get-together this weekend!

Cuisine: Cuban

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 15 to 20 minutes
Total Time: 25 to 30 minutes
Servings: Makes 12 sliders

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley
  • 1 pack (12 count) Hawaiian rolls
  • 1/2 cup Dijon mustard
  • 3/4 pound smoked ham, sliced
  • 3/4 pound Swiss cheese, sliced
  • 1/2 cup dill pickle chips

Here's how to make it:

  1. Mix the butter, garlic and parsley together in a small bowl until combined.
  2. Slice all 12 rolls, without separating, horizontally in half. Place the bottom halves in a 13x9-inch baking dish. Spread the mustard evenly over the bottom buns. Top with a layer of the ham, Swiss cheese, pickles and remaining roll lids.
  3. Brush the rolls with the butter mixture. Bake in a preheated 350-degree F oven until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 15 to 20 minutes. Separate into individual sliders.
