Grandma's Old-Fashioned Beef Barley Soup Recipe Is Comfort in a Bowl Soups Beef Dinner Lunch

I enjoy soup all year long, and beef barley is one of my favorites. I like this soup recipe in particular because it doesn’t have potatoes; I figure I eat plenty of carbs already! And, even without potatoes, this old-fashioned beef barley soup recipe is comfort in a bowl.

This rich and hearty soup has a great mix of textures, with the tender beef, vegetables and chewy barley. It will leave you warm and satisfied. It’s the very definition of comfort food. It reminds me of being home from school sick and being taken care of by my mom (now Grandma to my kids). Grandma recipes are the best recipes!

Complete the meal by serving with Cheddar Bay Biscuits and a salad, or your favorite soup side dishes. This savory soup is so easy to make and is perfect for dinner. Pack the leftovers for lunch the next day!
