With back to school just around the corner, what better snack to include in kid’s lunchboxes than super healthy fresh-cut jicama sticks? Kids love to dunk treats like carrots and celery in dips and hummus, so give them a new and exciting option to enjoy!

This jicama fries recipe is a guilt-free snack that fuels good bacteria in the gut and will leave them wanting more.

Cuisine: Mexican
Prep Time: 5 to 15 minutes
Cook Time: 0 minutes
Total Time: 5 to 15 minutes
Servings: 2

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sliced jicama (cut like small-medium carrot sticks)
  • juice from 3 - 4 key limes (regular limes work, too)
  • 1 teaspoon Tajin, sprinkled on to taste

Here's how to make it:

  1. Combine all ingredients.
  2. Let rest for about 15 minutes. This will allow the flavors to really set in, but you can eat it right away, too!

Note: Tajin is a delicious Mexican spice mix of salt, chili peppers and dehydrated lime.
