Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 35 to 40 minutes (ovens vary)
Total Time: 45 to 50 minutes
Servings: 12
Ingredients
- 2 cups self-rising flour
- 1 1/4 cups whole milk
Here's how to make it:
- Whisk together the flour and milk in a mixing bowl until smooth and lump free. (Do not overmix!) Spread the batter into a 8x4-inch loaf pan that's been lined with parchment paper. (If you use a larger loaf pan, the bread will not rise as much as using a regular-size loaf pan. You could add a pinch of salt to the dough. Whole milk is recommended for this bread recipe. Using low-fat milk or nut milks will affect the bread's texture.)
- Bake in a preheated 350-degree F oven for about 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown on top and it bounces back with touched. You can also insert a toothpick and it should come out clean. Let bread cool before removing it from the pan. Store the bread in an airtight container to keep it fresher longer.

Mine looks nothing like the picture. It would be nice if whoever created this recipe did a video tutorial to show how to get it so creamy looking and smooth on top. Very bland not very flavorful at all and even spraying the loaf pan and putting parchment in the bottom and spraying the parchment below still stuck and came out looking like a beige piece of wood.
