I'm hoping this bread is good for sandwiches. Yeast breads never work out for me
Donna John
I hear ya! I'm not that great at baking, but working on it. I hope this bread works out for you!

If you use these quantities you get a DOUGH and not a batter?? Then it says "don't over mix"..it is a dough?
Donna John
It's a loose dough. It's not kneaded. Mixing it too much will make the bread tough.
Rene Jones
Well, I have one in the oven. It is definitely a dough and not a very loose one at that. I ended up spraying the top with cooking spray and using the back of the spoon to smooth it out. It will definitely NOT look like the picture. We will see about the texture once it come out of the oven.
Rene Jones
Very heavy and dense. Looks pretty when sliced, taste is bland. I think adding a tad bit of sugar would help. It would work for sausage gravy over it instead of making individual biscuits, but it has the definite taste of a biscuit. I would not use it for a sandwich as it is way too heavy and dense.
Donna John
Thank you for the tips! Like the idea of adding a bit of sugar.

Thanks for letting us know because I was wanting to make it to use for sandwiches

I'm wondering if I can use lactose free milk instead of whole milk?
Donna John
If the consistency is the same, I would say yes. If it's thinner (like skim milk), it would affect the bread's outcome.

I have a question for you all is this supposed to look like baking powder biscuit dough because it does not look like something that can pour.

Mine looks nothing like the picture. It would be nice if whoever created this recipe did a video tutorial to show how to get it so creamy looking and smooth on top. Very bland not very flavorful at all and even spraying the loaf pan and putting parchment in the bottom and spraying the parchment below still stuck and came out looking like a beige piece of wood.
Donna John
I didn't take the time to smooth the top, but it came out delicious. If you think it's bland, add a little salt to the dough. And yes, it's a thick dough. Hope you try it again. We love it.

I just made this bread and I still can't believe that 2 ingredients make bread. I couldn't wait for it to cool down all the way and snitched a slice as soon as it came out of the oven. Yummm! It's delicious and so nice and soft. I added a tsp of sugar to the batter, as I thought it might help it brown a bit better. It was a little short so I might play around with the amounts and bake time to see if I can get a taller loaf. Thanks for this recipe. It's a keeper!

It's so good! I had the batter ready and dishes washed before the oven even got to temperature. :-)
Donna John
Made a loaf of this today. So easy. Toast it with butter. Delish!!!
