Turn chocolate cake balls into fun bats for Halloween. Your family and guests will go batty over them! If you're not a fan of cake balls, you can make this recipe with chocolate truffles instead.

Be very careful when inserting the bat wings so you don't break them. Working with chocolate can sometimes make you batty...

Cuisine: American

Total Time: 1 hour and 5 minutes

Ingredients

Here's how to make it:

  1. Make cake pops according to recipe using chocolate cake mix and chocolate icing.
  2. To make the bat wings, melt the chocolate chips in the microwave until smooth. Using a spoon, spoon out bat wing shapes onto a parchment paper-covered baking sheet. (They do not have to be perfect!) Pop the cookie sheet into the fridge to set up the wings. After chilled, carefully peel the wings from the parchment paper. (Reserve some of the melted chocolate to attach the wings, ears and eyes.)
  3. Put the chocolate cake balls into a serving platter. Using the reserved melted chocolate, attach two chocolate chips for the ears, attach the edible eyes and carefully attach the wings.
