Alabama White Sauce Recipe: Southern White BBQ Sauce Changes Things Up Sauces/Condiments

If you're not from Alabama, you may not have heard of Alabama white sauce. This creamy mayonnaise-based white barbecue sauce recipe can be served with barbecued meats (of course!), chicken tenders, chicken wings, french fries or anything you want a twangy sauce with. 

The creamy white barbecue sauce is made with mayonnaise, salt, black pepper, white vinegar, lemon juice (fresh is best) and granulated sugar. Whisk the ingredients together until the sugar dissolves and refrigerate about one hour for the flavors to blend. 

While not traditional, to change things up and add some freshness, stir in a couple teaspoons of your favorite dried herbs (like in the photo) into the Alabama white sauce. Why not? You can never have too mush freshness, right? This may be your new go-to BBQ sauce.

Ingredients

• 2 cups mayonnaise
• 1 tablespoon salt
• 2 tablespoons black pepper
• 6 tablespoons white vinegar
• 6 tablespoons lemon juice
• 1/4 cup granulated sugar

1. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl. 
2. Whisk until sugar dissolves and ingredients are thoroughly combined. Refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving.
