This recipe has potential but is seriously lacking in a number of areas. First, you just can’t pour the milk over the bread pieces. Half of the pieces will not be covered and thus have no liquid at all. You need to stir repeatedly to get the bread pieces saturated. More importantly the sugar quantities way way too much. There is no way a stick of butter will dissolve into 2 ounces of Bourbon. The resulting sauce will have so much undisolved sugar it will taste like it has sand in it. If you cut the sugar by half or more in both the pudding and sauce it comes out pretty good.
