Sandwich night. Gotta love it! But we're not talking plain ol' ham and cheese sandwiches, we're talking hearty sandwiches made with ground beef. The addition of wine adds a depth of flavor that will make you think you ordered this sandwich from a pub. This sandwich recipe will make you look forward to sandwich night!

You don't need many ingredients for this hearty and cheesy beef sandwich. Here is your short shopping list: French bread or sandwich rolls, ground beef, white wine, garlic, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, condensed cheddar cheese soup and shredded cheddar cheese. Serve this easy loose meat sandwich recipe with homemade potato chips or french fries. Or get healthier and add a salad.

Recipe Notes

  • Try this pub-style sandwich with ground turkey or chicken instead of ground beef.
  • Broth could be substituted for the white wine.

Here's how to make it:

  1. Cook the ground beef until browned and cooked through, about 5 to 6 minutes. Add the garlic and cook 30 seconds. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Add the wine and cook until it evaporates.
  3. Add the onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, cheddar cheese soup and grated cheddar cheese. Cook until cheese has melted.
  4. Slice the French bread loaf in half lengthwise and lay it on a baking sheet. Top one side of the bread with the meat mixture and top with the other half. Wrap the sandwich in aluminum foil.
  5. Bake in a preheated 350-degree F oven for about 10 minutes.
