Recipe Notes

  • Use your favorite bread, but one that isn't too hard and crusty.
  • This sandwich can be made in a skillet, panini press or sandwich press.

Here's how to make it:

  1. Spread the butter on one side of each slice of bread. Lay the bread butter side down. On the unbuttered side, layer the ingredients. Close the sandwich so the butter is on the outside.
  2. Cook in a hot skillet, pressing down to flatten as it cooks with a spatula or sandwich press. Flip and do the same to the other side. You could also cook it in a panini maker. Serve.

I love paninis! When I make them, I cover a brick with aluminum foil and use that to weigh them down. Great way to use up those leftovers. Gwen Johnson
