Martina McBride's Whiskey Smash Cocktail Recipe Will Be Tops on Your Happy Hour Playlist Cocktails
My mom surprised me with a signed copy of Martina McBride's new cookbook, Martina's Kitchen Mix. After flipping through the book, you'll quickly learn that Martina loves her cocktails! Here is the first recipe I made from the book, which is a cocktail recipe, of course.
You'll need:
- 1 lemon, cut into 8 wedges
- 8 fresh mint leaves
- 1 1/2 ounces simple syrup (here's how to make simple syrup)
- 4 ounces bourbon
- lemon wedges and mint leaves, for garnish
Here's how to make it:
Muddle the lemon and mint in a cocktail shaker.
Add the simple syrup and bourbon. Fill the shaker with ice. Put lid on a shake about 30 seconds.
Strain into two cocktail glasses filled with crushed ice. Garnish with a lemon wedge and mint leaves. Serve.
