I used semisweet chocolate chips, but going to try dark chocolate when those 3 bananas on my counter get ripe enough. :-)

Donna John !! The upside is I think my kids will love this, so maybe I can keep from eating too much when we make it.

Bananas vary significantly in size, can you tell me how many cups of mashed bananas to use?
Donna John
JenniferColburn123 I never measure my bananas, and always use the max called for in a recipe. This one I used four for the loaf pictured. Just regular size bananas.

I was really looking forward to this but it didn't come out very good. I think it had too much oil and too much cocoa. Cocoa has a very strong bitter taste and the oil took away that nice bread/cake like texture. I'm sure this would have been awesome without the oil and cocoa. Just the chocolate chips in there would have been fine.

So sorry this did not turn out like you expected. We enjoy this recipe and love the deep, chocolate flavor. My daughter even created a vegan version of it: food: Vegan & Gluten-free Chocolate Banana Bread Recipe Is Moist & Delicious (Muffins or Loaves) mojorising73
