Between throwing beads and sipping on your beverage, hand your guests a festive Mardi Gras cupcake. This cupcake recipe is super easy to make and are a fun and colorful addition to any Fat Tuesday celebration.

The cupcakes start with a box cake mix, which always makes baking so much easier. Once you prepare the batter and bake the cupcakes, let them cool completely before decorating. Two cans of white cake frosting are divided and colored yellow, green, blue and purple using food coloring. Then get to frosting those moist cupcakes! After frosting, decorate with Mardi Gras picks, sprinkles or other fun and festive edible decorations.

Put the colorful cupcakes out of a pretty platter. Throw some Mardi Gras beads on the table plus other decorations, and those cupcakes will be the centerpiece of your table. Store any leftover cupcakes in an airtight container.
