Cuisine: Mediterranean / American
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes (ovens vary)
Total Time: 20 minutes
Servings: 3
Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh salmon filet
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon fresh chives, diced
- salt and pepper, to taste (optional, but I used about 1/4 teaspoon of each)
- fresh chives, for garnish (optional)
Here's how to make it:
- In a baking pan or casserole dish that's been sprayed with cooking spray or lined with aluminum foil, place the salmon filet skin side down. Season with salt and pepper, to taste, if desired.
- In a small mixing bowl, add the mustard and honey. Stir to combine. Taste to see if you'd like to add any more mustard or honey to get the flavor just right for you.
- Add the chives and stir to combine.
- Spread the mixture over the salmon, reserving a small amount to drizzle over the salmon after it's done baking, if desired.
- Bake in an oven that's been preheated to 375 degrees F until desired doneness, about 15 minutes. Salmon is done when it reaches 145 degrees F on a food thermometer.
- Remove from oven and drizzle any reserved sauce over the salmon and/or garnish with additional fresh chives, if desired. Serve. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and reheat in the microwave.
