Macaroni and cheese never gets a frown at my house. My husband is fine with the blue box, but sometimes you need some elevated mac and cheese on your dinner plate. This creamy Boursin macaroni and cheese recipe has only three ingredients, but it tastes so delicious. The creamy pasta side dish is on the table in about 10 minutes!

If you've never cooked with Boursin, it is a creamy herb cheese spread made with Gournay cheese. According to the Boursin website, Boursin cheese was created by François Boursin, a young French cheesemaker. He worked for two years on his recipe inspired by fromage frais, a traditional French cheese dish that blends garlic, fresh cream, soft cheese, herbs, salt and pepper. In 1963, François introduced this creamy cheese to the world and it's since become famous. If you've not yet tried Boursin as an ingredient, consider this an easy opportunity to do so!

Here is your short shopping list for this side dish pasta recipe: short pasta (think elbow macaroni, rotini, wagon wheels, bowties, penne, etc.), a box of Boursin cheese in your favorite flavor and milk of choice.

Ingredients

• 8 - 12 ounces short pasta
• 5.2 ounces (1 package) Boursin cheese (I used shallot and chive)
• 1 - 3 tablespoons milk of choice (I used evaporated milk)

Here's how to make it: 

1. Cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain and return to pot.
2. Add the Boursin and stir until melted.
3. Add milk enough it reaches desired consistency. (Season with salt and pepper, to taste, if desired.)
4. Serve immediately. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge. Reheat in the microwave, adding milk to loosen it back up.
