Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes
Servings: 6
Ingredients
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 8 ounces pasteurized cheese product, cubed
- 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 1 cup LA VICTORIA® Thick 'n Chunky Salsa (or your favorite salsa)
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 chopped jalapeño peppers
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro leaves, for garnish
Recipe Notes
- Instead of Monterey Jack cheese, try your favorite Mexican blend.
- Try this recipe with ground turkey instead of ground beef.
- Store any leftover queso in an airtight container in the fridge. Reheat in the microwave.
Here's how to make it:
- Prepare grill for medium-high heat. Heat a medium cast iron skillet on the grill. Add the ground beef, chili powder, cumin, salt and black pepper, to taste. Cook 3 to 5 minutes or until browned. Move skillet to indirect heat on grill.
- Add cheeses, salsa, onions and jalapeño peppers to skillet.
- Cover grill. Grill 6 to 8 minutes or until cheeses are melted.
- Stir dip to combine. Serve hot garnished with cilantro.
