Brown Sugar Slow-Cooker Ham Recipe Is So Tender & Juicy (4 Ingredients) by Elisa Schmitz
When cooking for a group, here are two things that make life better: a ham and your slow cooker. If you've never made a ham in a slow cooker, let me highly recommend it. Cooking a ham in a slow cooker takes so much stress out of feeding a family or planning a gathering because the slow cooker does most of the work. Plus, slow-cooked ham is absolutely delicious!
This brown sugar slow-cooker ham recipe is a perfect example, and it makes every day a holiday! With just four ingredients and minimal prep, you can make a ham that's so tender and juicy, the meat literally falls off the bone. Plus, the sweet brown sugar glaze makes the ham succulent and savory.
To make this easy, gluten-free slow-cooker ham recipe, you need only four simple ingredients: a 5- to 7-pound ham (I used bone-in ham), brown sugar, honey and orange juice. After just five minutes of prep and six hours of slow cooking, this flavorful ham dinner is ready to dazzle your family or friends.
You can serve this tasty ham with potatoes, rice, pasta or your favorite side dishes. I served it with my everything but the bagel roasted potatoes and my roasted broccoli and carrots side dishes. I've also served this ham on Hawaiian rolls as sliders, and they didn't last long!

Recipe Notes
- Instead of orange juice, you could use pineapple juice.
- You can use a pre-cooked bone-in or boneless ham (I used bone-in ham).
- If your ham is too big for your slow cooker, you can cut some of it off to make it fit.
- Ham is done when it reaches 145 degrees F on a food thermometer.
- Store leftover ham in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
- Leftover ham is delicious served on Hawaiian rolls as sliders.
Here's how to make it:
- Turn on your slow cooker. Evenly distribute the brown sugar into the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Place the ham cut-side-down into the slow cooker.
- Pour the honey then the orange juice over the ham. Season with salt and pepper, if desired.
- Cover the slow cooker with the lid. Cook on low heat for six hours. Meat should be tender, juicy and easily fall off the bone. Ham is done when it reaches 145 degrees F on a meat thermometer.
- Remove ham from slow cooker and allow to rest a few moments before carving. Be sure to serve ham with some of the delicious juices in the slow cooker.
