I see recipes for slow-cooker ravioli lasagna all over the place, so I thought I'd make my own version. Apparently this easy ravioli lasagna recipe was delicious, because my 15-year-old said, "Thank you so much for the ravioli, that stuff was the bomb! You should make it more often!"
This shortcut pasta recipe is great when you want a hot dinner, but it's too hot to cook or you will be gone until dinnertime. I did have to use a frying pan to brown the hamburger, but that was easy. The best part? You only need four ingredients for this ravioli lasagna! Here is your short and sweet shopping list: frozen cheese ravioli, ground beef, spaghetti sauce and mozzarella cheese.
This high-protein Italian ravioli dinner is great served with garlic toast and a fresh garden salad. Pack the leftovers (if you have any) for lunch the next day. Be sure to read about the health benefits of protein in our diets.
Cuisine: Italian
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 4 hours
Total Time: 4 hours and 10 minutes
Servings: 6
Ingredients
- 32 ounces frozen cheese ravioli
- 1 1/ 2 pounds ground beef
- 23 ounces (1 jar) spaghetti sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Here's how to make it:
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet and drain. Spread 1/2 cup of the spaghetti sauce on the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Do three layers of the following: 1/4 ravioli, 1/3 ground beef, 1/2 cup cheese and 1/2 cup sauce.
- Top with remaining ravioli, sauce and cheese. (For more cheesy goodness, add some freshly grated Parmesan cheese to the top.)
- Add 1/2 cup water to the empty spaghetti sauce jar and shake. Pour it around the edges of the ingredients (this adds moisture to prevent chewiness). Cover and cook on low for 4 hours. (Set slow cooker to warm after 4 hours to prevent burning.) Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat in the microwave.
