OMGoodness, Donna John , my mouth is watering. This reminds me of my Old World grandmother's cooking (she was from Croatia). I think so many old-fashioned dishes from Europe can be claimed by various countries, haha! So good!

Yes, mine was a thicker because I chose to use a casserole dish instead of a 13x9-inch pan. But everything worked together and it was a good dinner. Not one I'd make too often because of all the carbs, but a tasty bite! You could also serve it as a side dish.
