Baseball is back! If you're hosting a party to watch a game or just want to recreate a ballpark atmosphere at home, you need to this easy nacho cheese dip recipe.
This cheese dip has four simple ingredients and tastes like what they serve with those tortilla chips at the stadium (OK, it's better). Here is your short shopping list: butter, flour (all-purpose or gluten-free), milk and processed American cheese slices.
Have fun and serve the nachos in to-go nacho containers. If you want to fancy it up a bit, put the tortilla chips on a platter, drizzle with the cheese and top with your favorite nacho toppings. (Check out this cute baseball cake!)
Serve this cheese dip as an appetizer or a fun snack. You could even use it in recipes calling for cheese sauce. This yummy sauce is great drizzled over hot dogs or burgers.
Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes
Servings: 6
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons flour (gluten-free or all-purpose)
- 1 cup milk
- 7 slices processed American cheese
Here's how to make it:
- Melt the butter in a saucepot over medium heat.
- Whisk in the flour until smooth. (To make this recipe gluten-free, use gluten-free flour.)
- Slowly pour in the milk, whisking, and cook until it thickens. Use whatever kind of milk you like. I like to use whole milk.
- Add the cheese slices. Cook, stirring, until cheese melts and mixture is smooth, about 10 minutes. This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled. Store the cheese sauce in an airtight container and reheat in the microwave.
