Grilled Flat Iron Steak Recipe Has Delicious Asian Flavors (7 Ingredients) by Donna John
Flat iron steak is an often overlooked cut of beef. If you like flank steak, hanger steak or skirt steak, you need to give flat iron steak a try. This flat iron steak recipe is marinated in an Asian-inspired marinade and then quickly grilled. This grilled steak recipe has an awesome flavor!
Flat iron steak is so juicy and tender because it is well marbled. The cut of beef is from the cow's shoulder, also known as the chuck area. Some people compare it to ribeye steak. Flat iron is delicious, but ribeye is still my favorite. Cost wise, however, flat iron steak is the budget-friendly choice.

To make this juicy marinated grilled flat iron steak you will need the following ingredients from your fridge and pantry: a flat iron steak, soy sauce or gluten-free tamari, sherry cooking wine, honey, sesame oil, fresh garlic, fresh ginger (read about the health benefits of ginger) and optional crushed red pepper flakes for a little spicy kick.
I marinated my steak for about six hours, turning it over every so often. If you want to cook two steaks, simply double the marinade ingredients. Be sure to slice this steak against the grain when serving. If you don't have a grill, you could cook the steak in a grill pan or cast iron skillet.
Serve the tender grilled steak for a high-protein dinner with your favorite side dishes. The steak would be delicious sliced and served on a bed of fried rice or used in a steak salad.
