Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes
Servings: 6
Ingredients
- 14 ounces (1 can) beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, chopped
- 8 ounces sliced fresh mushrooms (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 32 - 36 ounces (1 bag) frozen meatballs
Here's how to make it:
- Combine the broth, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup and cornstarch in a small bowl. Set aside. For a gluten-free dinner, use gluten-free Worcestershire sauce and use gluten-free meatballs. You could use tomato paste instead of ketchup.
- Heat the butter in a large skillet. Add the mushrooms and onion, and cook until soft, about 5 minutes. Remove to a plate. If you don't like mushrooms, omit them.
- Heat the olive oil in the skillet. Add the meatballs and cook until warmed through. If you don't want to use frozen meatballs, make your favorite homemade meatball recipe.
- Add the onions and mushrooms. Pour in the sauce. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook about 5 minutes or until sauce thickens. Store the meatballs and gravy in an airtight container in the fridge. Reheat in the microwave.
